Wire + Tips

Soldering tips are matched to a specific iron, so start with the model number on your iron. Chisel tips transfer heat well for wires, terminals and connectors; conical tips handle fine electronics. Keep tips tinned and wipe them on a damp sponge or brass wool to extend life. A pitted or non-wetting tip should be replaced.
