Metal Halide Lamps
Metal halide comes in two incompatible types: probe start and pulse start. Each needs its own ballast, so match the ANSI M-code on the lamp to the code on the ballast label. Open fixtures need an O-rated (protected) lamp; enclosed fixtures can use standard lamps. Ceramic metal halide gives better color for retail and display. Changing several lamps a year?
